Distillers Round Table: Bridgette Firtile of The Nobel Experiment

Monday, May 23rd, 2:30 - 4:00pm
BCAE - Cranberry Room
Sponsored by: Owney's Rum

Tickets: $25.00

If Owney’s NYC Rum has quite the story, so too does its founder Bridget Firtle. A lifelong New Yorker from Rockaway Beach, where her family home’s basement was a speakeasy back in Prohibition, she left her job as a hedge fund analyst to move home and follow her dream of making rum. Bridget found a space, got a still and named it Cleo, sourced some all-American molasses, and started distilling. She founded her distillery The Noble Experiment (TNE) in 2012, during a revival of small-batch spirit-making in Brooklyn. Learn about her experience producing Owney’s NYC, an unaged white rum named after a Prohibition-era mobster and bootlegger who owned the notorious Cotton Club. You’ll also hear about the range of other products TNE puts out including aged rums, whiskies, and more, and taste a range of offerings including of course Owney’s NYC Rum, a distinctive, complex, dry white rum made from all-natural, non-GMO molasses. Bridget will share the triumphs, heartaches, and joys of founding and running a small company in the beverage industry. Come prepared with questions!

This is a round-table discussion class, and will have tickets by invitation only. Expect to come prepared with questions and a basic understand of the topic at hand.
